Discipline Procedures
It is my belief that all students choose their behavior. When children misbehave, it provides an opportunity for them to reflect and correct their behavior, which then helps them to grow and mature. With this in mind, I use an incremental plan to allow students to self-correct their behavior. However, if a student continues to misbehave, the disruptions will not be tolerated.
Should a student choose to misbehave and disrupt his or her learning or the learning of others, the following steps will be implemented:
Infraction -
1st: Verbal or visual warning
2nd: Note for parent written in the student's agenda (to be signed by parent)
3rd: Phone call/e-mail to parents to discuss the behavior and/or set up a Parent/Teacher Conference
* These steps may/will be skipped if the behavior warrants more serious consequences or if the behavior is repetitive.

Rewards
I believe in rewarding students for having great behavior and making good decisions. A lot of the time, I think people tend to focus on the negative and what is not ideal. This is why I choose to recognize students who are doing the right thing. Two ways students are rewarded in my classroom are the Character Counts Cards and the Canyon Springs Reward Tickets.
Character Counts Cards: Students who demonstrate great character can earn stamps on the Character Counts Card. When a full block of stamps has been achieved, the student can choose a prize from the Prize Bag and earn a Reward Ticket. Students can earn stamps for the following:
